Within its remit of competence, SEGA cooperates with various EU and international organisations, and institutions.

In the area of network and information security, the Agency cooperates actively with the  European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). The Agency acts as an expert centre for cybersecurity in Europe, assisting the EU and Member States in ensuring they are better prepared and equipped to prevent, detect, and respond to problems in the area of information security. SEGA cooperates closely with ENISA and has its representative on its Governing Board. It also participates and organises joint cyber security training events and initiatives, such as the EU cybersecurity month.

In the area of cybersecurity, SEGA has commitments within the framework of its competencies to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in respect of its efforts to combat different cyber threats, including cybercrimes and the use of internet for terrorist purposes. A strong focus in the work of the organisation is the development of Confidence Building Measures (CBM) in cyberspace between the participant countries, with a view to reducing the risk of conflicts, arising from the use of ICT. SEGA also reports on the progress, achieved by Bulgaria on CBM implementation in cyberspace and in the work of the dedicated informal CBM working group of the OSCE.
